Blogtober Day 16: Ikea Haul Part Two: To The Kitchen 😊

Disclaimer:  I haven't been paid to promote any products or stores, just sharing my latest smiles x

Hi Honeys,

How are you?  All well and staying warm I hope?  It's gotten so chilly now and I'm regretting complaining about it being too warm just a couple of months ago 😊

Our other Ikea delivery arrived (if you missed the last Ikea post you can see it here honeys) and I thought I'd share it with you because there are a couple of products I hadn't heard of until I spotted them online at the Ikea site.

Ikea haul part two

This post has lots of photos dear ones, so it might be good to fetch a lovely warm cuppa (and maybe a cookie or two 😊) and I'll meet you back here after the page break, see you in a few mins x
Welcome back honeys, do you have your cuppa? ☕  Cool, me too.  Why not get comfortable and put your feet up, there are lots of photos to scroll through 😊  Let's get started then...

Ikea is one of my absolutely favourite shops honeys, it really is, and as I said in a recent post, the only complaint I have had recently is their packaging.  Well, not really, more that the last few orders have been in boxes that seem too large with lots of packaging.  I do understand, especially in orders like mine which have glass items, that they need to be protected during the delivery process, so, yes, it's a tough thing to measure.  I'm sure they do their best because they really do, as a company seem to try to be as mindful of their impact on the world.  They go farther than many others companies do I think.

Ikea haul part two

Inside this latest package were two bamboo lids designed to fit the containers in the Ikea +365 collection.  We have quite a collection of these dishes now, all in glass.  We invested in a few at a time to build up our collection and I use them for meal prep and Hubby takes his lunches to work in them as well.

Also included in this latest delivery were three of the glass containers themselves.  One of the large, rectangular (1.8 litre) glass containers and two of the large, square (1.2 lire) glass dishes.  I had ordered two square bamboo lids to match but they were out of stock, I'll add them to our next order, whenever that is.

I really like how the bamboo lids look on the containers.  As we bought our small collection we ordered the silicone "click and lock" lids because I planned to use them for meal prepping. I knew they'd be going into the freezer, and also Hubby would be transporting his lunch to the office in them so a lockable lid was important.

I'm quite impressed so far though with the seal on the bamboo lids, which also seems to be airtight.

Let's take a look at what was included in the rest of this latest order then, will we honeys...

Ikea haul part two: Kitchen items made up our latest order.

As you can see in the image above, this order is made up of (mostly) kitchen items.  At the top of the photo you can see the glass containers.  Also in the photo (from the bottom left hand side) are: A pack of Slibb mesh washing bags.  These are supplied in a set of two.  One large and one a little smaller.  The large one I'll use to wash Jade's stuffed toys and the smaller one for other delicates such as bras, hooks can play havoc in the wash.

Sitting on top of the package containing the Slibb mesh bags is a pack (of two) FÖRSEGLA bamboo coasters.  I spotted them on the website and ordered a pack to see what they were like.  They're actually lovely (I think so anyway😊) and can of course be used as coasters...

The bamboo coasters have a small "lip" on their underside which allows them to also double up as "lids" for your coffee cup too. So clever!

The TORVFLY tea towels are a set of four and have a bright pattern of broccoli and root vegetables.  They're quite small but really pretty and each one has a little loop at the top to hang them up.

I also ordered one of the GUBBRÖRA spatulas, we already have one in pink so I'm glad they choose another colour when they picked our order.😊 There are four colours available, and it's not possible to choose a colour when you order.  These are great spatulas, made from rubber, very strong and great to cook with.

I adore that so many of Ikea's products are responsibly sourced and our kitchen is gathering quite a collection of bamboo items, with a few more in this order..

In the photo above are two pairs of the OSTBIT bamboo serving tongs, perfect for serving salads or for stir frying.  I haven't used them yet but they seem to be great quality and are a real bargain at only 75p!

Next to the tongs are a pack of three HEAT pot stands in cork.  I'm currently using one of these pot stands to sit my small pot of hot water with lemon on in the mornings and it's perfect.  They're much thicker that I'd thought they would be, are 19cm in diameter and do seem to be great quality.

Next to the pot stands in the photo above is a  BERGENES phone holder I'd ordered for Hubby.  He's been working from home recently and that means his using his phone as well as his laptop so I thought it might a useful accessory for his desk.  It's made from bamboo and Hubby's loving it.💖  They've also recently dropped the price of this little phone holder (at the time of my writing this) from £2.25 to £1.50 too.

One of the newer products in this latest shop is a collapsible wash basin (although the Ikea site refers to it as a wash tub.)

Ikea haul part two: One of the newer products in this latest shop is a collapsible wash basin, saving storage space under the sink..

This little wash tub is called PEPPRIG and, due to it's collapsible design, is not only useful but would be great to save storage space under the sink...

Ikea haul part two: One of the newer products in this latest shop is a collapsible wash basin, saving storage space under the sink.

It's in a lovely salmon pink colour and is 27cm in diameter.  I'm not sure it's big enough to wash the Sunday dinner dishes in but it's a good size if you have a smaller modern sink or even for cleaning tasks around the house and could be folded and hunk on a hook in a laundry/utility room when not in use.

Last product in our latest haul then honeys is a pack of three little scrub pads (also from the PEPPRIG range) which are very "rough" in texture, imagine a re-usable scouring pad (like Brillo pads?)  I think they'll last quite a while because they seem to be very well stitched together, with the "scratchy" textile material covering a foam sponge inside (or that's what it says on the website, I haven't actually opened one of them.)

Phew!  That was a longer post than I thought it might be honeys, sorry about that.💖  We should have made a pot of tea instead earlier😊  Over to you then, are any of these products new to you? I hadn't seen the collapsible bowl or the little scrubbing pads before.  Do you have any favourite Ikea products?  Are you a fan like me?

I'll leave you a list of links for all of the products, in case you want to find anything.  This post is not sponsored, I haven't been paid to promote any products, or even Ikea itself.  This was just our latest order and I thought I'd share as part of Blogtober.
